  1. After a three-year project timeline, the Australian industrial and logistics property developer and investment manager, Gibb Group, has celebrated the opening of a milestone project in Melbourne – an innovative food manufacturing facility for Arnott’s Group member, Good Food Partners.

The $200 million facility in Rowville, Melbourne, signals a new epoch for Good Food Group as the leading manufacturer of branded and private-label breakfast cereals, muesli and nutritional snacks.

Employing more than 200 people for the project, Gibb Group embraced the challenge of transforming the former Sigma Pharmaceuticals site into a cutting-edge and expansive facility that consolidates numerous Good Food Partners’ operations into one bustling site.

Gibb Group CEO Matthew Gibb says it has been humbling to be involved in the delivery of a future-focused facility for an iconic Australian brand.

“It is incredible to see this site come to life,” he says.

“Good Food Partners and Arnott’s have been part of the fabric of Australia’s food manufacturing industry for decades and in developing this facility, we knew we had to build something that was state-of-the-art, fit-for-purpose and designed for the future.”

The new Rowville facility sets a benchmark in food manufacturing, ensuring efficiency at every stage – from raw materials to packaged products.

In collaboration with builder DZine Construction, Gibb Group delivered the 35,000 square-metre temperature-controlled food manufacturing hub with separate production areas for allergen-free and allergen-controlled ingredients and super awning spaces.

The facility’s super awnings and multi-deck car park enabled the tenant to assume early occupation and start fit-out and operations before the project was finished.

The facility was designed with sustainability and future-proofing in mind. The construction allows for ongoing expansion with 15,000 square metres supplemented to the building’s footprint.

Gibb says the project exemplifies the Gibb Group’s skill in transforming an insipid and dated industrial site into a high-functioning facility that will play host to peak efficiency and industry leading food manufacturing operations.

“We leveraged the development heritage of our business to re-develop, re-position and re-lease delivering a new functional solution not only for our end customer, but our investment partners,” he says.
